Managing a garden will always involve people’s input. The Belmonte Arboretum Foundation succeeds in exploiting and managing the garden with a small working organisation, and a number of volunteers. Underneath the people you may come across in our garden. Is there anything you want to know, feel free to ask them, they enjoy telling you the stories of this garden.
.. if we keep on putting our backs into it, this garden will continue to be a fantasic place for Wageningen and all the visitors.
What is so fascinating about working with the collections? You think you know the collection well, but new aspects come up every time. To be surprised, reflect upon that, and then tell you the story, that is always the challenge for me.
Mirjam Lemmens, collection manager
from the very first moment, I was captured by this garden, if you practice my profession it is an honour to be allowed to work here!
Bert Verbeek, gardener
It is wonderful to be able to work here with so many different keen people. Only by joining our efforts will we keep Belmonte in prime condition!
Trudie van Iersel, assistent management
What appeals to me? That, partly due to our group of volunteers, the garden is looked after in such a way that Belmonte Arboretum is preserved for Wageningen. Working together and taking care of secondary conditions, in order to let things run smoothly.
